Christian Life - Behavior - Family Coaching
Life Coaching or Behavior Coaching is for individuals and families who see that they want more out of life, although realize they need tools to help them obtain it. Behavioral Coaching is different to behavioral counseling.
Counseling focuses on exploring the past and on emotional healing and resolving past experiences by increasing our awareness of dysfunctional thinking habits. This is done through utilizing therapeutic techniques like psychoanalysis and cognitive-behavioral restructuring to help clients change their lives.
Behavioral coaching primarily work with the caregiver(s) of the child as well as the child. Even though the overall goal may be behavioral success and growth for the child, the behavioral consultant focuses on supporting the child’s caregivers (parents, teacher, etc.) in order to achieve that goal.
Your coach has extensive knowledge and experience working with individuals, families and schools. Behavioral coaching focuses on learning, performance efficiency and overall growth of the child and family. The behavioral coach gathers information about the child such as temperament, potential barriers within the environment and on specific targeted behaviors that are causing the child to struggle at home, in the school and/or in certain social situations.
A Christian coach is not a pastor or counselor, but rather someone who works with clients to address specific coaching goals from a distinctively Christian or biblical perspective. Meeting with a Christian coach allows the opportunity to move forward in not only how we choose to respond to the world but also empowers us to move forward in your relationship with Christ to be the person that the Lord created us to be.
Empower DLS also offers schools the opportunity to have a behavior consultant to do observation of students in classroom setting. This can be beneficial for both student and teacher. We also offer in-service workshops which specifically concentrates on working with children with difficult temperaments.
In life we see circumstances through various lenses . We obtain our lens from the experiences we have through our interactions with family, friends and our environment, these lenses impact on how we think, feel and the choices we make. Life skills workshops are targeted to equip individuals to identify how they see the world, why they have this perspective and how their perspective impacts on their relationships with others. When we become more aware we then can take responsibility of our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. When we accomplish this we are then able to consider and identify with others and also obtain the outcome of being a success in life and in our relationships. These workshops also are effective for teams and organizations as they all consist of individuals who are either aggressive, passive or assertive. We will equip participants with the skills and knowledge to be assertive, which is expressing your thoughts and feelings while being conscious of everyone involved and always wanting to obtain a win/win situation.
